Details Of Disintegration

I was on an outing in Spotsylvania County with a group of fellow photographers one day last summer, on a mission to capture some scenes that might be worthy of entering in the "Uniquely Spotsylvania" show at the Salem Church Library. One of our stops was in front of an old farmhouse that was slowly disintegrating. We stood out on the road, mindful of the "No Trespassing" and "Beware of the Dogs" signs, trying to get a good photograph from there. The owner of the property was mowing the grass around it, and invited us inside the fence, as long as we promised not to go inside the structure, so we were lucky to be able to get some closeup shots without breaking out the telephoto lenses. In the areas where the siding had come down I was drawn to the lath and the plaster that had oozed through the cracks when it was first put on. When I was looking for something to fit the textures and patterns theme, this was the first photo that came to mind.
